The Righteousness of Faith (Book)
Faith has a righteousness all its own. It cannot be duplicated or consummated through the self-righteous acts of men. It cannot be worked up by some pseudo, esoteric experience. Righteousness is a gift from God. The law of Moses was a powerful tool in the hand of God to show the world, as well as the Israelites, what sin was and what the Old Testament believers had to do to be declared righteous in His sight. Since Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried and on the third day rose again, there is another law in the earth today that supersedes the law of Moses. That is the law of faith. Righteousness comes only by faith in the finished redemptive work of our Lord Jesus Christ not by works, washings and carnal ordinances. Our churches today are filled with people who think that because they haven't done a certain sinful act they are better than the other fellows. Doing good does have
meritorious rewards, but all of our righteous deeds can never place us in the category of the untouchables. Today, God is calling for humility from His people. We must put on humility of mind and become more thankful for what Christ has done for us. We must begin to share in earnest with others where the Lord has brought us from. It is time to declare His righteousness not our own.
